Dr. Mélanie Laberge obtained her doctorate in Psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Her doctoral research examined the effects of rules on behaviour. She worked and completed internships in various clinical settings in the private and public sectors, including the Women’s Health and the Pediatric Clinics of the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital, the Attention Deficit Disorders Clinic of the Rivière-des-Prairies Psychiatric Hospital, the Centre d’évaluation neuropsychologique CENOP-FL as well as the Clinique ABA, specialized in behavioural intervention. She works with a clientele of children, adolescents and adults. In her work with pre-school children she works with families to offer parental coaching. Parental coaching has demonstrated efficacy with several different family problems, behavioural and affective (difficulty with routine, dealing with conflicts, anxiety in children). With children, adolescents and adults she specializes in cognitive behaviour therapy and integrates other therapeutic techniques that have been scientifically validated. In her work with adolescent and adult populations, she specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, eating disorders and attention deficit disorder.
